20I need my crafting tools

Needle manager, PDF reader, project insights, and color palette

1
Explore Your Toolkit
Stash2Go tools screen showing all available crafting utilities

The Tools tab gives you quick access to essential crafting utilities - needle management, PDF reading, project analytics, color planning, assisted yarn scanning, yarn pooling previews, row counter exports, and device pairing. Everything you need beyond your projects and patterns is right here.

2
Manage Your Needles
Needle Manager showing your needle and hook collection organized by size

The Needle Manager keeps track of your entire needle and hook collection. See which sizes you own, which are currently in use on active projects, and which are available. Never buy a duplicate needle again.

Your needle inventory syncs from Ravelry - needles you've added to your Ravelry account appear here automatically. Currently, needles cannot be added or edited directly through Stash2Go; you'll need to manage your needle collection on Ravelry.com (a dedicated in-app needle management database may be added in a future update).

Tip: On each pattern detail page, Stash2Go highlights which recommended needles you already own - so you can tell at a glance whether you have the right tools.
For the full walkthrough, see Track Your Needle Collection.
3
Read Pattern PDFs
PDF Explorer showing pattern PDFs from your Ravelry library

The PDF Explorer lets you read pattern PDFs without leaving the app. It supports two kinds of PDFs:

Ravelry Library PDFs - Patterns you've purchased or downloaded on Ravelry appear automatically. These come from your Ravelry library and are always up to date when the designer publishes corrections.
Private PDFs - You can also add your own PDFs (from other sources, printed patterns you've scanned, or personal notes) so everything lives in one place.

The built-in Smart PDF Viewer goes far beyond a simple reader - place horizontal and vertical line markers to track your row, bookmark pages, zoom in on charts, and use the side panel for row counters, pattern choices, and notes all alongside your pattern.

For the full walkthrough, see Save and Read Your Pattern PDFs.
4
View Project Insights
Project Insights showing statistics and analytics about your crafting history

Project Insights gives you a bird's-eye view of your crafting journey. See how many projects you've completed, your most-used yarn weights and fibers, average project duration, and trends in your crafting habits over time.

For detailed analytics including stash insights and year-in-review, see View Your Crafting Statistics.
5
Create Color Palettes
Color Palette tool for creating and saving color combinations for projects

The Color Palette tool helps you plan color combinations for colorwork, stripes, and multi-color projects. Extract colors from a photo of your yarn, build palettes from your stash inventory, or explore new combinations using the color wheel.

For the full walkthrough, see Plan Your Color Palette.
6
Scan Yarn
Yarn Scan tool for identifying yarn from camera photos

Point your camera at a yarn label or skein and Stash2Go identifies it by matching against the Ravelry database of over 100,000 yarns. You get the yarn name, brand, weight category, fiber content, and colorway information instantly - perfect for identifying mystery yarn from your stash or quickly logging a new purchase.

Tip: Yarn scanning requires enabling Assisted Features in Settings. It works best with clear photos of the yarn label.
7
Yarn Pooling Calculator
Yarn Pooling Calculator showing color pooling pattern preview

Calculate color pooling patterns for variegated yarns. Set your stitch count, row count, and color repeat length to preview how the colors will pool in your finished fabric. Adjust parameters in real time to find the perfect stitch count for intentional pooling - or to avoid it entirely.

Tip: Measure one full color repeat on your yarn (all colors until the sequence starts over) and enter it as the repeat length. Even small changes in stitch count can dramatically change the pooling pattern.
8
Export Row Counters
Export Row Counters screen for exporting counter session data

Export your row counter session data for record-keeping. Choose from multiple formats including CSV, JSON, and plain text. This is useful for tracking time spent on projects, analyzing your knitting pace, or keeping a backup of your counter history outside the app.

For setting up row counters and using them while knitting, see Count Your Rows.
9
Device Management
Device Management screen showing connected devices and pairing options

Pair new devices with a code to sync your Stash2Go account across phones, tablets, and the web. Row counters, settings, and preferences stay in sync across all your paired devices. Manage your connected devices and unpair old ones you no longer use.

For the full walkthrough, see Pair Your Devices.
