Advance counters, hear instructions, and track time without touching the screen
Voice commands let you advance counters, undo mistakes, and navigate your pattern without setting down the needles. Keep your hands on the yarn and your eyes on the fabric.
Open the Voice Commands dialog from Settings. Pick your language, choose audio or haptic feedback, and toggle whether sensitive commands like "reset" require spoken confirmation. Grant microphone access and tap "Start Listening" to test.
The Voice Commands section appears in the sidebar with a "Listening..." badge when the microphone is active. Commands act on whichever chart counter is currently selected — switch charts, and voice commands follow automatically.
Six core commands: NEXT advances the counter. BACK decrements by one. FROG rolls back multiple rows. RESET returns to the starting value. MARK places a reading guide. STOP turns off the microphone. Fuzzy recognition handles slight mispronunciations.
Text-to-speech reads shaping instructions and row information aloud so you can keep your eyes on the fabric. Choose from the available voices on your device and adjust the speed. Use the preview button to hear how it sounds.
Track how long you spend actively knitting. Start when you pick up your needles, pause for breaks, and it accumulates your total working time across sessions. The timer is stored per project and persists even if you close the app.
