34I want shaping guides for my pattern

Follow increases, decreases, and shaping steps that advance with your row counter

Shaping guides break multi-step increase and decrease instructions into individual steps that advance automatically with your row counter. No more losing track of where you are in a crown decrease sequence or a sleeve taper.

See it in action
1
Create a shaping guide
New Shaping dialog with fields for name, At Row or Manual mode, chart counter selection, auto-play toggle, and step type showing decrease option

In the Shaping section (Full mode), tap "Add Shaping". Name it, choose whether it starts At Row or in Manual mode, and select which chart counter it follows. Turn on auto-play to have it advance automatically with your row counter.

Tip: Add multiple shaping guides on the same counter for overlapping shaping sequences.
2
Define the shaping steps
New Shaping dialog scrolled down showing step details: increase 1 stitch each side, every N rows, stitch count tracking, and Add Step button

Each shaping guide contains one or more steps. A step defines the action (increase, decrease, short row, bind off), how many stitches, how often, and how many repeats. The stitch count tracker shows your running total as shaping progresses. Tap "Add Step" to build out the full sequence from your pattern.

3
Follow your progress as you knit
Shaping card overlaid on the chart showing shape 1, Row 1-1 of 5, with the instruction increase 1 stitch each side and a speaker icon for audio

As you advance your row counter, the shaping card updates to show exactly where you are. On plain rows it tells you to knit even; on shaping rows it shows the instruction. When one step finishes, it moves to the next automatically. The speaker icon reads the current instruction aloud.
