14I want to save patterns I love

Tap Favorites on the Home screen. Everything you have ever hearted on Ravelry is here - patterns, yarns, other people's projects, designers, yarn shops, brands, bundles and forum posts, all in one grid.

Open any pattern, yarn, project or designer and tap the heart in the top corner. That is the whole thing. It saves to Ravelry at the same moment, so it is there on the website too.

The heart opens a small box before it saves, so you can file the thing while you are thinking about it:

Once you have a few hundred, the search box and the filter are how you get back to something. The filter is by type: Patterns, Yarns, Stash, Projects, Designers, Yarn Shops, Yarn Brands, Forum Posts and Bundles. Tap All Types to go back to everything.

The second button beside the search box changes the layout. Grid is quickest to scan when you are looking for a picture you half remember; Stack and Essentials show more words and less picture. There is a tick box to use the same layout on every list in the app.

Tap a favourite and you get two tabs. Info is your side of it: when you saved it, the note you wrote, your tags, and which bundles it is in - all still editable. Pattern is the thing itself, with the designer, the price, the sizes and everything else.

The same heart removes it - from the item's own page, or from the card in your favourites. It leaves your Ravelry favourites at the same moment, so the two never disagree.

They look similar and do different jobs. Favourites (the heart) is things I like - anything at all, whether or not you own it. Library (the book) is things I own - patterns you bought or downloaded, with the actual files. A pattern can sit in both, and usually does once you buy something you had hearted.
